Bertha "Bertie" Smith, 55, of Mansfield, passed away at her home on Monday, October 29, 2018 after a lengthy illness. Bertie was born on June 2, 1963 in Ashland, Ohio, the daughter of Pete "Pat" and Pauline (Brown) Smith.
Bertie was employed as a material handler at Edge Plastics for ten years. She was an avid fan of the Walking Dead Show, enjoyed fairy gardening, and loved animals.
Bertie was survived by his son, Mike (Jessica) Smith; grandchildren, Dacota Smith, Logan Loveless, Landon Lewis, and Kenzlee Smith; sisters, Marti Wallace, Sharon Harris, Beverly (Tony) Sanchez, and Patricia Smith; brothers, Bobby Smith and Pat (Dawn) Smith; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding Bertie in death were her parents; granddaughter, Kailynn Smith; brother, Roger Smith; and sister, Betty Hughes.
There will be no services observed. Memorial contributions may be made to Richland County Humane Society. The Wappner Cremation Center is honored to serve the family.
