
Betty Jane Hoy, 85, of Mansfield, died Thursday afternoon, December 15, 2005, at MedCentral Mansfield Hospital after an extended illness. Born June 4, 1920, in Detroit, Michigan, she was the daughter of the late Richard Hill and Pecolia Rouse Hill Jones. Mrs. Hoy was a member of Providence Baptist Church and had worked at Dominion Electric and Mansfield Memorial Homes Day Care. She was a member of the Lexington Senior Citizens.
She is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Hampton Austin and Milton O. Jr. and Teresa Hoy, all of Mansfield; two daughters, Shirley Hoy of Toledo and Denise Hoy of Mansfield; fourteen grandchildren, John Bonner, Chiquata Lowe, Nicole Lowe, Leon Lowe, Antonette Lowe, Jamie Hoy, Bethanie Hoy, Kenya Goodman, Milton Hoy III, Nathan McFarland, Zachary McFarland, Melissa Townsend-Hoy, Jerone Ginn, and Malcolm Townsend; ten great-grandchildren, Juanya Britton, Justice Hoy, Jerone Bonner, Jurone Bonner, Charter Bonner, Charmaine Bonner, Virgie Lowe, Kolonia Goodman, Miciha Hoy and Marnay Hoy; three great-great grandchildren; a brother and sister-in-law, Fred and Hazel Jones of Warrensville Heights; a host of nieces and nephews; and five friends, Mrs. Theresa Hunter, Mrs. Dorcas Davis, Mrs. Lawrence, Ms. Margaret Townsend and Mrs. Jenny Parker. She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard Hill, Pecolia and Fred Jones, husband, Milton O. Hoy, Sr., a daughter, Marnette Lowe, a sister, Willie Mae Jones; a sister and brother-in-law, Vinnie and Clifford Tate.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 22, at Providence Baptist Church at 12:00 p.m., conducted by Rev. Hunt. Friends and family may call at the church one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in Mansfield Cemetery. Wappner Funeral Directors assisted the family with arrangements.
