

Betty Jane Theaker, 90, of Mansfield died Thursday, November 15, 2012 at Hospice of North Central Ohio. Born January 17, 1922 in Mansfield she was the daughter of Grady and Myrtle (Hagerman) Pearce.
Betty was an impeccable dresser, never leaving the house without looking her best. She had an unwavering, strident look on life. Betty was an only child so upon marrying her love, Richard, she was determined to make sure they would have a beautiful large family, which they did. She remained active and feisty to the end. Betty enjoyed reading and was a tremendous seamstress. Her greatest loves were her entire family.
She is survived by her husband of 69 years, Richard Theaker of Mansfield; sons, Paul R. (Jean) Theaker of Mansfield, Brian D. (Laura) Theaker of Placerville, CA, and Terrance (Brittany) Theaker of Danville, KY; daughters, Nancy J. (William) Fletcher of W. LaFayette, IN and Kathy (Keith) Welch of Lexington; her Dachshund, Fritz; grandchildren, Melanie (Michael) Davis, Christopher Eckert, Holly (Tim) Holmes, Aaron Welch, David, Nolan, Monique, Jeffrey, Rosa, Jude, and Jada Kay Theaker; and great grandchildren, Abigail Kaufman, Natalie Holmes, Jillian Holmes, Logan Eckert, Jarod Davis, and Chloe Davis. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her infant son, David Mark Theaker.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, December 15, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at First English Lutheran Church, 53 Park Ave. W., Mansfield, conducted by Rev. Paul Larson. Friends may call one hour prior to the service from 1:00-2:00 p.m. at the church. She will be placed in the columbarium niche at First English Lutheran Church following the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made in Betty’s memory to First English Lutheran Church or Hospice of North Central Ohio, 1050 Dauch Dr., Ashland, OH 44805.
