

Betty Elaine Heston Thomas, 82, died Tuesday, February 8, 2005, at the home of her son after a long illness. Born February 26, 1922, on the birthday of her sister, Katie, in Lexington. She was the daughter of Marion and Ethel Milligan Heston. Betty graduated from Lexington High School in 1940. She and her husband, Earl, made their home in Mansfield. She enjoyed playing cards, Yahtzee and bingo, but most of all she enjoyed being with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Betty is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Mike and Brenda Thomas of Mansfield and Larry and Linda Thomas of Goodlettsville, Tenn.; grandchildren and their spouses, Heather TonyThomas, Mike Melissa Thomas, Patty Tim Arnett, Dave Stacy Thomas, Kevin Zinda Thomas, Joanna Thomas, Dawn Mike Miller; great-grandchildren, Mikie and Emilie Thomas, Ethan Sams, Samantha, Matthew and Nicholas Arnett, Jennifer, Hunter, Rylee and Ella Rose Thomas, Jessica and Jonathon Tadlock, Hanna and Hailey Miller; brother, Richard Annabelle Heston of Lexington; and sister, Katherine Brown of Columbus. She was preceded in death by her parents, stepfather, William Swigart, husband, Earl, son, David, granddaughter, Jill, brother and sister-in-law, Jack and Maxine Heston, four sisters and three brothers-in-law, Leora and Charles Gaul, Mildred and Robert Foss, Martha and Sam Amato and Ethel Johnson.
Friends may call at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, Friday, February 11 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 12 at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home, officiated by Rev. Faith Proietti. Burial will follow in Mansfield Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to MedCentral Hospice.
