
Bill Morris, 80, of Mansfield, formerly of Harzard, KY, passed away Sunday morning at Crestwood Care Nursing Home in Shelby following an extended illness. Mr. Morris was born January 17, 1921 in Yerkes, Kentucky to Marion & Sarah Begley Morris and has lived in the area since 1993. Mr. Morris retired from Whitaker Coal Co. as a coal miner after 32 years. He was a member of the United Mine Workers of America and a member of the Church of the Living God in Typo, Kentucky and was also an ordained minister for 37 years. He was also a member of the Krypton Masonic Lodge # 905 F&AM in Krypton, KY. and served in the U.S. Army during WWII in the South Pacific from 1942-1945.
Mr. Morris went to be with the Lord with his family by his side and is survived by his wife of 60 years, Juanita Campbell Morris of Mansfield; two daughters and sons-in-law, Patricia & Manuel Noble and Shirley & Douglas Caudill both of Mansfield; three sons and daughters-in-law, Bill Carlos & Judy Morris of Mountain City, TN; Clyde Edward & Charlotte Morris of Mansfield and Marcus Wayne & Reece Morris of Pierceton, IN; nine grandchildren, William Noble, Timothy Morris, Carla Csillag, Angie Carroll, Kevin Morris, Melissa Ramsey, Sandra Allen, Marsha Robbins and Michael Morris; two step grandchildren, Shannon Roberts and Andy Baldridge; ten great grandchildren; one step great grandchild; two sisters, Myrtle Lainhart of Franklin, OH, Pearl Campbell of Williamstown, KY.; numerous nieces and nephews He is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Wallace & Ira Morris; three sisters, Marie Wooten, Bertha Wooten and Bertie Johnson.
Friends may call at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors on Tuesday March 13, 2001 from 2-4 & 7-9 P.M. Mansfield Masonic Lodge #35 will conduct services at 8:30 P.M. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at the funeral home at 1:00 P.M. conducted by Rev. Kevin Morris & Rev. Bruce Morrison. Burial will be held at Mansfield Memorial Park where the Mansfield Joint Veterans Council will hold a military graveside service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
