Billy Q. "Billy Bob" McCabe

Billy Q. "Billy Bob" McCabe, 92, of Mansfield, passed away Sunday, August 1, 2021 at OhioHealth Mansfield following an extended illness. He was born December 23, 1928 in Bellaire, Ohio the son of Harry and Oma McCabe.

Billy attended the House of Prayer Church for several years. "Dad" or "PawPaw" as we all called him, had read the entire Bible numerous times. Any time there was a question, he could tell you the exact Scripture and Verse.

Billy married his sweetheart "RoseBud", Rose Marie (Stack) McCabe November 16, 1950. They made their home in Mansfield, Ohio raising three children. Work was never a problem for Billy. He retired from Golden Hawk Transportation at the age of 89 only due to health issues. He loved his boss, Raymond Miller, often saying "He's like a son".

He was a football fan loving to watch the Dallas Cowboys and The Ohio State University Buckeyes on television but going to see his "TY" Tygers on Friday nights with his son was priority. Puzzles were his latest passion, always looking forward to his daughter-in-law Debbie's surprise puzzle.

"Dad" or "PawPaw" will be greatly missed but we all know he is in a better place.

Left behind to cherish his memories are his wife, Rose Marie McCabe; his children, Bill (Debbie) McCabe, Tim (Donna) McCabe; his grandchildren, Christopher McCabe, Heather Vanselow, Jason (Natalie) Conard, Brandi McCabe and Taylor (Clement) Robinson; 17 great grandchildren; and one brother, Walter (Wally) McCabe.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his one and only daughter, Judith Conard; and numerous brothers and sisters.

Family and friends may call from 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. Thursday, August 5, 2021 at the Wappner Cremation Center, 1327 Ashland Road, Mansfield where a memorial service will follow starting at 3:00 p.m. conducted by Brother Ernie McCormick. Full military honors conducted by the Richland County Joint Veterans Service will follow the memorial service.
