Blanche Arnold

Blanche 'Ilene' Butts Arnold, age 77, of Mansfield, died Tuesday December 7, 2004 at Mifflin Care Center following an extended illness. Born September 1, 1927 in Mansfield, she was the daughter of Roy and Cleo Mae Bowman McCartney. She was a Housemother at Downs Residence Hall for 11 years, and had also worked at Hilltop Restaurant and Westinghouse. Mrs. Arnold was a member of the Daughters of Herman and the VFW on Ashland Road.

Survivors include two daughters, Darlene and 'Bud' Windsor of Mansfield, and Sharon Bristow of Pensacola, Florida; 11 grandchildren, Bud Windsor, Jr. of Mansfield, Annette Windsor of Mt. Gilead, Lori Wright of Mansfield, Darla Estep of Ashland, Randy, Lonny and Brad Bristow all of Mansfield, Larry Butts, Jr., and Jerry and Gary Butts; several great grandchildren; one sister, Lydia George Calhoun of West Palm Beach, Florida; and two nephews, Herb McCartney of Mansfield, and Ken Arnold of South Carolina and former husband Willis Arnold. She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Cleo Mae McCartney; first husband, Lewis Butts; son, Larry Butts in August 2004; brother, Russell McCartney; and granddaughter, Denise Windsor Thompson on May 2, 2003.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday December 9, 2004 at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors. Friends may also call from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on Friday December 10th at the funeral home where funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Dale V. Adkins officiating. Burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
