Bobby Yates

Bobby Joe 'Robert' Yates, 64, of Shelby, died Friday afternoon October 3, 2003 at MedCentral Shelby. Mr. Yates was born February 1, 1939 in London, Ohio residing in the Mansfield area most of his life. He retired from Mansfield Foundry Corp after 36 years of service. He was a member of Amvets Post #26, Ontario and of Eagles Aire #13, Shelby. Mr. Yates was a veteran of the United States Navy.

Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Robert Jr. and Debbie Yates of Shiloh; and Jeffrey and Jennifer Yates of Shelby; four grandchildren, Kayla, Drue, Morgan and Gracie; two brothers, Lee Yates and Clifford Yates both of Ironton, Ohio; two sisters, Helen Jordon of Ironton; and Minnie Jensen of Vermontville, Michigan; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Drue and Viola Sparks Yates; one sister, Linda Back and one niece, Vicki VanHorn.

Friends may call at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors on Monday October 6, 2003 from 5-9 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home conducted by the Rev. Ken Wright. Military graveside services will be held in Mansfield Cemetery.
