Brian Ricer

Brian James "BJ" Irwin Ricer, 19, of the Mansfield-Ashland area, died Wednesday, June 18, 2008. He was born February 9, 1989 in Mansfield. Brian worked as a construction worker. He loved baseball, fishing, hunting, soccer, soapbox derby, playing the harmonica, and was known for being a jokester.

He is survived by his father and stepmother, Brian C. and Becky Callahan Ricer, Ashland; mother Dorothy "Lynn" Ricer and Ken Partin, Mansfield; brother, Beau Ricer, Mansfield; half brother, Joshua Ricer, Ashland; stepbrothers, Jason, Jordie, and Lucas Callahan, Ashland; sister, Stephanie Josh Wallace, Shelby; half sister, Joylynn Cline, Jeromesville; stepsister, Nisha Montgomery, Ashland; paternal grandparents Carolyn and James Ricer, Ashland, aunts and uncles, Tom Maust, Tim and Wendy Maust, Kathleen and Wayne Hefner, Stephanie and Tim Knowlton, Mark Ricer, all of Ashland, Alan Ricer, Punta Gorda, FL, Rick and Cheryl Sayers, Alberta "Bert" Sayers, all of Mansfield, Catherine "Kate" Bowman, Phoenix, AZ, Martha Sayers, Mt. Gilead, numerous nieces and nephews, and many friends and extended family. He was preceded in death by maternal grandparents Alex and Dorothy Thierlein Sayers, paternal grandmother Linda Pryor, and great grandfather James Franklin Ricer.

Friends may call from 4-8 Friday, June 20, 2008 at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors. Funeral services will be Saturday at 10:30 at the funeral home, officiated by Chuck Sloan. Burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made in care of the family. Wappner Funeral Directors is privileged to serve the family of Brian.
