Carol Cole

Carol Louise Cole, 70, of Mansfield, died Wednesday evening, April 2, 2008 at her home. Born April 2, 1938 in Beacon, New York, she was the daughter of Edward and Muriel Knapp Cole. Until her recent retirement, she was employed as a counselor at Crossroads Halfway House. She attended First Congregational Church. Carol enjoyed camping at Charles Mill Lake, reading and spending time on the computer.

She is survived by a sister and brother-in-law, Cathy and Kenneth Merrill of Killington, VT; brother and sister-in-law, Larry and Rae Cole of Bensalem, PA; nieces and nephews, Lisa Greg Abbott of Bethel, VT, Karen Merrill of Middlebury, VT, Brian Merrill of Pittsfield, VT; aunts, Ardis Nardon of Pittsfield, VT and Eleanor Knapp of Rutland, VT; and canine companions, Kaylee and Sam. Preceding her in death were her parents and longtime special friend, Freda Howell.

Memorial services will be held Wednesday, April 9 at 10:30 a.m. in the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors with Dan Dickman officiating. Private family burial will be held in Mansfield Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Richland County, 395 Lantz Rd., Mansfield OH 44906.
