
Caroline Bing Koehler, 69, of Mansfield, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Saturday, March 07, 2009 at Brethern Care Nursing Home in Ashland while surrounded by her loving family. Born July 7, 1939, in Trenton, NJ, she was the daughter of William Bing, Jr. and Betty Shuttleworth Bing. She was a faithful member of the Loudonville Baptist Temple, pastored by her son, David. While her children were growing up she was a homemaker and served singing in church choirs. She devoted many years to loving and counseling young people with drug and alcohol addictions after she received a Masters degree in pastoral counseling and psychology from Ashland Theological Seminary. She was passionate about the work of the Richland County Drug Court. Caroline also received two accreditations: CCDC III certified chemical dependency counselor and a LICDC licensed independent chemical dependency counselor. She loved reading, golfing, shopping, collecting antique dolls, and spending time with her beloved dog, Cessi Ann. She cherished the time she spent with her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, Kathryn Rob Dyer of the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation, SD, David Chris Koehler, Jr. of Mansfield, and Timothy Danielle Koehler of Medina; grandchildren, Ayren, Arlo, Drew, Aubrey, and Rylee Dyer, and Natasha Matthew Vogt, Matthew Kristen, Joshua, and Jacob Koehler, and Emily, Liliana, and Caleb Koehler; former husband, David J. "Jud" Koehler of Wooster; sister, Betty Jane Kenneth Bosch of Newark, DE; nieces and nephews, William Teresa Bing IV, Micah Laura Bing, Rebecca Bing, Ben Mary Bing, Christian Tessa Bosch, Janie Brian Trumbull, Abraham Bosch, and Carrie Jonathan Finney. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, William Bing III.
Friends may call from Monday, March 9, 2009 from 4-7 p.m. and Tuesday, March 10, 2009 from 10-11 a.m. at Loudonville Baptist Temple, 15528 State Route 3 N., Loudonville. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at the church, conducted by Pastor Dale V. Adkins. Burial will take place Thursday, March 12, 2009 at Fairview Cemetery in Amsterdam, NY. Memorial contributions may be sent through Loudonville Baptist Temple to be gifted to a local teen Drug and Alcohol treatment program.
