

Charles "Chuck" Adkins, 77, of Ontario, passed away early Tuesday morning, February 9, 2016, at OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital. He was born October 1, 1938, in Amhertsdale, West Virginia, to the late Frank and Ruby (Arthur) Atkins.
Known affectionately as "Bobby Joe" and "Chuck", he was a retired steelworker. Chuck was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He was a 32nd degree Master Mason of the Lake Erie Masonic Lodge and served as Past Master. He was also a member of the Scottish Rite. In his free time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and woodworking. A family man, he had a great sense of humor, and a giving heart. For over ten years, he helped provide transportation to his Amish friends. On April 5, 2005, he married Darlene Kleer Watts and they shared 13 wonderful years together.
In addition to his wife, Darlene, he is survived by five children, Charles R. (Patricia) Adkins, Jr., Keith R. (Tammy) Adkins, Chris (Velma) Watts, Kathy Ezawa (Joyce Smith), Mathew (Ruth) Watts; ten grandchildren, Brian (Katie) Hale, Keith (Kate) Adkins, Logan Bisesi-Adkins, Haley Bisesi-Adkins, Katie (Kevin) Yang, Bethany (Cameron) Kinch, Justin Ezawa, Morgan (Ben) Wait-Carrodus, Christopher Watts, Jr., and Brady Watts; and four great-grandchildren, Emma Hale, Ella Watts, Jake Watts, and Cash Wait-Carrodus. He is also survived by a brother, David Atkins; a sister, Judy Booth; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Sharlene Faye Adkins; and three brothers, Donald, Jack and Jonnie Atkins.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 13, 2016, at Nashville Church of Christ, 216 East Millersburg Rd., Nashville, Ohio. The memorial service conducted by Pastor Brad Dodson will follow at 2:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice. Compassionate cremation will take place at a later date with burial to follow at Highland Memorial Gardens, Chapmanville, West Virginia.
