Charles Mathews

Charles Dean Mathews, 31, of Mansfield, died Wednesday, September 24, 2014. He was born July 27, 1983, in Mansfield, Ohio and attended Mansfield Senior High School. He enjoyed spending time with his children and friends. Eating out and shopping were favorite hobbies.

He is survived by his mother, Crystal (Rodney) Wright; father, Charles Benjamin; girlfriend, Octevia Lindsay; children, Anizhae, Shaimere, Nina, Sincere, Ki'mani, Shanyiah, La-veah, Zyair, and Charles, Jr.; brothers and sisters, Dana Mathews, Dontrai Mathews, Ceanne Wright, Cassie Brown, Kisi Benjamin, Misty Benjamin, Towanda Benjamin, Kimani Benjamin, Precious Benjamin, Stacy Marshall, Sir John Benjamin and Ellavisha Tillman; maternal grandfather, Robert Mathews; paternal grandfather, Henry Benjamin; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; and best friends, Nolan Lovett and Mario Taylor. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Marie Cline; paternal grandmother, Laura Benjamin; and a cousin who was like a brother, Shawntorio Kilgore.

A funeral service conducted by Rev. Bruce Bond will be held Tuesday, September 30, 2014 at 12:00 p.m. at Oasis of Love Church, 190 Chester Ave. Family and friends may visit beginning at 11:00 a.m. Wappner Funeral Directors is privileged to serve the family. Memorial contributions may be made at the funeral home in care of the family.

The family will receive friends daily from 5-9 p.m. until the day of the service at the home of his mother, 128 Helen Ave., Mansfield.
