
Mr. Parsons was born in Mansfield on Jan. 20, 1924, to Nicholas Ray and Gladys Marie Keiser Parsons and spent most of his life here. He graduated in 1942 from Mansfield Senior High School. He served in the Navy during World War II on the USS Intrepid and retired from Mansfield City Schools in 1983 where he had been employed 34 years in maintenance.
Surviving are his wife, Alberta Irene Bracken Parsons, whom he married August 8, 1948, in Los Angeles; four sons, Thomas Arthur Parsons of Grand Prairie, Texas, James Leroy Parsons of Barberton, Steven Charles Parsons of Mansfield and Carl Glenn Parsons of Dallas, Texas; six grandchildren, Charles and Nicholas Parsons of Alvarado, Texas, and Charity Laser, Chelsea Laser, Celeste Laser and Caleb Parsons of Mansfield; three brothers, Kenneth Parsons, Richard Dean Parsons and Joseph Parsons, all of Mansfield; a sister, Aurilla Mae ''Sis'' Parsons of Mansfield; and three daughters in law, Lucy Parsons, Vicki Parsons and Juli Laser Parsons. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Larry David Parsons in 1983, and five brothers, Charlton, Robert, Edward, Jack and Lewis.
Friends may call one hour prior to the memorial service which will be held Monday August 21, 2000 at 10:30 a.m. at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, conducted by Father John Jordan and Rev. David Sipes. Military graveside services will be held at Mansfield Memorial Park.
