Cheryl "Cherie" L. Buchanan

Cheryl L. "Cherie" Buchanan, 52, of Mansfield, passed away at OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital on Friday, October 19, 2018. Cherie was born on August 15, 1966 in Mansfield, Ohio, the daughter of Max and Linda (Kennedy) Buchanan.

Cherie was a graduate of Madison High School. She was a devoted mother and grandmother. She cherished her family, and her grandsons were the light of her life. A hard worker, Cherie always tried to do everything for herself without asking anyone for help. But, was always willing to help others out in anyway that was needed. Friendly was her nature, she could talk with anyone, and was always quick-witted and ready with a one-liner joking response. Cherie loved having fun and being outside doing her favorite things, camping, concerts, fairs and riding roller coasters.

She will be dearly missed by her son, Blake (Angelique Blazef) Buchanan; daughter, Brittany (Adam) Stoner; grandsons, Mikey Buchanan, Cameron and Dillon Stoner; sisters, Dawn (Jr.) Chinn and Teresa (Dan Smith) Buchanan; brother; Kevin (Judy Kriss) Buchanan; nieces, Nikki Chinn and Kelli (LaRue Smith) Chinn; great nephews, Kyle Jackson, Kenton and Kipton Smith; father of her children, Mike Sweeney; several aunts, uncles and cousins. Preceding her in death was her parents; sister-in-law, Cheryl Buchanan; and her faithful companions, Jasper, Echo and Blu.

A gathering of family and friends will be held Friday, October 26, 2018 from 4:00-7:00 pm at 1327 Ashland Road. Memorial contributions may be made to the family, the Ohio Bird Sanctuary or Richland County Humane Society. The Wappner Cremation Center is honored to serve the family.
