
Clara Smith Asher, 68, of Shelby died early in the morning on Saturday December 27, 2003 at Grant Medical Center unexpectedly. She was born April 26, 1935 in Clay County, Kentucky to Simon and Ida Eller Smith.
She is survived by her seven daughters and sons-in-law, Ida Linda and Roger Fuller and their children, Loretta and Farrah of Shelby, Charlotte and William Schaub and their children, Charlotte Sue, Shannon and Billy of Seveierville, Tennessee, Shirley Asher and her daughter, Jenni of Shelby, Betty Sue Thompson and her children, Christina and Crystal of Shelby, Clara Louise McAfee and her children, Candice and Myranda Clara, Tammi Lynn and Kevin Kipp, and their children, Shane, Caleb, and Morgan Kipp, and Teresa Jean McKown and her son, Justin McKown of Shelby; six great-grandchildren, Alyshia, Olivia, Kaitlyn, Jennifer, Mackinzie and Savannah; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Queen and Ida Smith of Crestline and Brian Smith of Siler, Kentucky; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Simon and Ida Eller Smith; and her husband William E. Asher.
Friends may call at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors Monday December 29, from 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home conducted by Pastor Brian Phillips. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery in Crestline.
