
Clayton L. Cole, age 67, of Mansfield, died Thursday morning May 11, 2000 at MedCentral/Mansfield Hospital following a brief illness. Mr. Cole was born December 24, 1932 in Mansfield, Ohio living in the Mansfield area all of his life. He was a supervisor at Gorman Rupp for 43 years. Mr. Cole was a member of the Gorman Rupp 25 year Club and a veteran of the United States Army serving during the Korean Conflict.
Surviving are his wife, Harlean Laughlin Cole; two sons and daughters-in-law, Jerry & Angel Cole, Tim & Heidi Cole all of Mansfield; a daughter, Claylean Cole and her fiancee, Jim McMullen of Mansfield; six grandchildren, Michelle & Richard Bishop, Xack, Christoffer & Codee Cole, Gina & Krista Cole; two great-grandchildren, Heather Armstrong & Dustin Bishop; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Ken & Karen Cole of Mansfield and Donald Cole of Mansfield; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Gurtha Martin of Mansfield; Videlia & Cleo Kennedy of Colorado; his mother-in-law, Berniece Norris of Mansfield, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clee S. & Marie VanNiman Cole.
Friends may call at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors Sunday from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held Monday at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home, conducted by Dr. Wray C. Smith. Military graveside services will be held at Oak Grove Memorial Park.
