Constance Underwood

Constance J. Underwood, 65, of Mount Gilead, Ohio, passed away early Tuesday morning, May 19, 2015, at The James Cancer Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. She was born May 27, 1949, in Bluffton, Ohio, to the late Joseph L. and Catherine E. (Musille) Jerger.

Constance was currently employed at Kohl's Department Store. She retired from the Morrow County Courthouse and had worked at several area banks throughout the years. She loved the outdoors, relaxing on the beach and reading. Spending time with her grandchildren, who were her pride and joy, was her favorite activity.

She is survived by a son, Jeffrey (Becky) Underwood of Ontario, OH; daughter, Lisa (Rich) Wolfe of Galion, OH; three grandchildren, Joshua and Jacob Wolfe and Ava Underwood; two sisters, Linda Gamble of Green River, WY and Barbara (James) Brodie of Edgefield, SC; a brother, Joe (Amy) Jerger of Ontario; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her lifelong friend, Larry Underwood.

The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, May 21, 2015, at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Road. The funeral service will be held in the funeral home Friday at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Jack Kegley officiating. Burial will follow in Mansfield Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, in memory of her mother, Catherine.
