

Dallas C. Lewis, 62, of Mansfield, died early Tuesday morning, March 8, 2016, at OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital. He was born September 8, 1953, in Vanceburg, Kentucky, the second of five children and oldest boy.
Dallas lived in Mansfield, Ohio, most of his life and attended Mansfield Senior High School. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps and served his country during the Vietnam War. He was formerly employed as a mail handler for the United States Post Office. An outgoing, caring man, he was an all-around nice guy who would do anything for anyone. Dallas enjoyed being outdoors, hunting and fishing.
He is survived by two daughters, Sarah Lewis and Shanna (William) Wake; two grandchildren, Liam and Evelyn Wake; a sister, Carolyn Lewis (Allen Arthur); a brother, Darrell Lewis; and nieces and nephews, Renee, Rachel, Roger, Dannielle, Christopher, Denise, Deanna and Devida. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dallas Ray Lewis and Norma Jean Lamson Lewis; and two brothers, Dwayne and David Lewis.
The family will receive friends from 2:30-3:00 p.m. Sunday, March 13, 2016, at Mayflower Congregational Church, 548 N. McElroy Road, Mansfield, Ohio. The memorial service will follow at 3:00 p.m. with Dr. Gary Wilson officiating. Burial will be in Ohio Western Reserve Cemetery at a later date.
