Darren Owens

Darren Owens, 48, of Mansfield, died Monday, September 28, 2009 at Lakewood Hospital. Born February 16, 1961 in Mansfield, he was the son of William G. and Shirley Perry Owens. He worked as a truck driver for R&L Carriers in Norwalk for 12 years. Darren loved riding his motorcycle, playing pool and poker, and spending time with his wife of seven years, Suzy. He also enjoyed watching the Oakland Raiders.

He is survived by his wife, Suzy Henry Owens; mother, Shirley Owens of Mansfield; three sons, Staff Sergeant Jeremy Keri Gullett now serving in Afghanistan, Timothy Gullett of Fremont, and Luke Owens of Mansfield; one daughter, Taryn Owens of Mansfield; six grandchildren, Garrett and Aiden Gullett, Heaven, Skyler, Jaylee, and Izzaik Gullett; brothers, Mike Owens and Kevin Pam Owens, both of Mansfield; and numerous family members. He was preceded in death by his father, William G. Owens.

A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, October 3, 2009 at McElroy Church of Christ conducted by Frank Moore. Friends may call one hour prior to the service Saturday at the church.
