

David Albert “Al” Dodson, 57, of Crestline passed away early Tuesday morning, June 26, 2012 at MedCentral Mansfield Hospital after a courageous and brave battle with lung cancer. Born July 1, 1954 in Mansfield, he was the son of the late Orville and Roberta (Reedy) Dodson.
A loving husband, dad, and pa-paws, Al was a very easy going man who enjoyed having a good time with family and friends. He never met a stranger and people loved being around him. An avid football fan of the Cleveland Browns and OSU Buckeyes, he loved tailgating with family and friends. Al also enjoyed music, watching NASCAR, fishing, camping, golfing, visiting Las Vegas, and family vacations at the beach. Al was an active member of V.F.W. Post # 7651 and served as secretary of the Men’s Auxiliary.
He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Denise Westlake Dodson; son, Brady (Jaclyn) Dodson; daughter, Abby Dodson (Justin Julian); three grandchildren, Lillian, Waylon and Ava; a sister, Enola (Dave) Kelley; two sisters-in-law, Anita (Jim)Them and Nelda (Roger) Williams; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Family and friends may visit from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, June 28, 2012 at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Rd. A funeral service conducted by Rev. Christopher Thomas will be held Friday at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home.
