
David A. Jones, 44, of Galion, died Friday, July 7, 2006 at The Ohio State University Medical Center after an extended illness. Born May 9, 1962 in Galion, he was the son of Dale F. Jones and Thelma Argo. He graduated from Ontario High School in 1980 and was a graduate of Mt. Vernon Nazarene College. He retired from the Air National Guard 179th Air Lift Wing. Mr. Jones was a member of the United Church of Christ in Crestline. He was also a member of the Amvets, the Army-Navy, and the American Legion in Galion. Mr. Jones loved his family and enjoyed boating and golfing.
He is survived by one son, Zachary Jones of Mt. Gilead; one daughter, Hannah Jones of Mt. Gilead; father, Dale F. Sandy Jones of Mansfield; brother and sister-in-law, Martin and Cathy Blamer of Mansfield; nephew, Tim Blamer of Mansfield; niece, Angie Blamer of Mansfield; several other nieces and nephews; former wife, Diana Jones of Mt. Gilead; special friend, Scott Robson of Mansfield; and numerous aunts and uncles. He was preceded in death by his mother, Thelma Jones; brother, Ed Blamer; and grandmother, Laura Argo.
Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, July 11, 2006 at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors. Graveside services conducted by Rev. Ron Kline will be held Wednesday at 3 p.m. in Mansfield Memorial Park with military honors. Memorial contributions may be made to the Special Olympics.
