

David attended Malabar High School. He was a great mechanic and had formerly worked at Friendship Engineering. David was a faithful member of Berean Church.
He was a very caring, compassionate, thoughtful man who was always smiling. His friendly, outgoing demeanor was evident in the many friends he made. No one was a stranger to David. He had many hobbies including: fishing, camping, hiking at Mohican State Park and being outdoors. David enjoyed sharing his love of wood crafting with his grandchildren.
He is survived by two daughters, Jasmine Bucher and Amber Powell, both of Mansfield; fiancée, Evon Johnson of Mansfield; six grandchildren, Noah, Nolan, Jayden, Tayna, Kayvon and Trayana; five brothers, Charlie Anderson of Detroit, MI, Opio Atiba of Columbus, OH, William Powell and James Powell, Jr., both of Mansfield, Derrick Powell of Columbus, OH; three sisters, Mary Jordan of Columbus, OH, Bobbi (Larry) Selmon of Louisville, KY, and Pamela (Alver) Craig of Columbus, OH; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and very good friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Eva Powell.
A memorial service will be held Friday, April 17, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. in Berean Church. Wappner Funeral Directors is privileged to serve the family.
