
Delmon Rose, age 69 of Mansfield died Saturday, March 30, 2002 at MedCentral Mansfield Hospital. He departed this life to be forever with our Lord after an extended illness. Delmon was born September 19, 1932 in Clintwood, Virginia and moved to this area in 1955. Mr. Rose was a veteran serving with the US Army in the Korean War. Mr. Rose was an employee of Empire-Detroit Steel Co. retiring in 1992 after 37 years of service. He had been the Pastor of the Elm Street Free Will Baptist Church in Shelby, Ohio for 26 years and the clerk of the North Eastern Ohio Conference of Free Will Baptist Churches for 30 years. He had dedicated his life to the service of our Lord for 46 years.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Lois Fleming Rose whom he married on April 9, 1955. Additional survivors include his five children and their spouses, Anna & Gordon Rachel, Delmon Jr. & Shelia Rose, Randy & Renee' Rose, Sharon & Marvin Stapleton and Chris & Gary Senokozlieff, all of Mansfield; thirteen grandchildren, Lee, Jason and Ben Rachel, Jonathon and Aaron Rose, Randy Rose, Heather Callahan, Jeremy and Joshua Stapleton, Brittney and Megan Rose, Derek and Gabriel Senokozlieff, all of Mansfield; seven great-grandchildren and expecting one more all of whom he loved and cherished. Mr. Rose was a devoted, loving husband, father, grandfather, and a friend to many. Also surviving are his mother, Gertrude Rose Hess of Mansfield; five sisters, Imogene Rose, Kathleen Webb, Angelina Rose, all of Mansfield, Christine Kline of Butler, Ohio and Justine Buckler of Olive Hill, Ky., and brother, Phillip Rose of Mansfield and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Willard Rose and Bessie Green Rose, two sisters, Vercia Kodak and Greta Rose, and four brothers, Tilden, Jackie, Lowell, and Earnest Rose.
Friends may call at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors Monday, April 1 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Funeral services will be at the funeral home Tuesday 1:00 p.m. conducted by Rev. Clarence Mullins, Jr. Military graveside services will follow in Oak Grove Memorial Park.
