

DeLoy Clantz, 82, of Shiloh, died January 3, 2015. Born February 26, 1932 in Plymouth, OH, he was the son of Russell and Helen (Payne) Clantz. DeLoy retired from the Garber Company. In his free time, he enjoyed racing at the Ash-Fair speedway and was an avid race fan, even working at Lakeville Speedway and Hilltop Speedway, where he was affectionately known as "Slim". Over his lifetime, he and his wife looked after hundreds of "adopted" children. He truly enjoyed his Mennonite neighbors but more than anything, he loved being with his family and friends.
Surviving are his sons, Chuck (Betty) Clantz of Shiloh, Bob (Wendy) Clantz of Jeromesville, and Scott (Robin) Clantz of Ashland; grandchildren, Terri (Chad) Parker of Sandusky, Toby (Frannie Jewell) Clantz of Ashland, Tina (Andy) Dove of Jeromesville, Jamie Clantz of Wooster, Joe Clantz of New York City, Rebeca Clantz of Jeromesville, Curtis Clantz of Savannah, Cassie (Jeff) James of Ashland, Kaytlynn Clantz of Ashland, Courtney Crossen of Ashland, James Eric Crossen of Ashland, and Kayla Graber of Ashland; nine great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews, and best friends, his dog, Lucky and cat, Lap.
Along with his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Norma Clantz, who died February 28, 2014 and brother, Dean Clantz.
Family and friends are invited to visit on Friday, January 9, 2015 from 5:30-7 p.m. at the Ashland Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 308 Claremont Avenue, Ashland.
