

Donald M. "Don" Evans, 76, of Lexington, passed away at the Cleveland Clinic on Monday, July 2, 2018. Don was born on August 26, 1941 in Niagra Falls, Canada. He was the beloved son of Harry and Angelina (Celino) Evans.
Don spent most of his life in Columbus with the last 24 years being in Mansfield. He retired after 35 years from Burwick Steel where he worked in the shipping department. He was a devoted husband, fabulous father and dedicated grandfather. Don followed many sports teams, and loved cheering on the Cleveland Browns, The Ohio State Buckeye football, and Cleveland Indians, his favorite team of all was cheering for his family. He was truly their number one fan. He loved his dog, Bucky very much. Don was a lover of the outdoors, an exceptional landscaper and enjoyed the game of golf and fishing. In addition to sports, Don enjoyed karaoke, dancing with his wife, and photography. He attended Mansfield Baptist Temple.
He leaves behind his wife of 24 years, Susanna Evans; sons, Donald "Tony" (Jodi) Evans of Rushville, Ohio; their daughter, Kara (Dave) Edwards of Lancaster, Ohio and their son, Evan Edwards, Rick (LaDonna) Gleisinger of Mansfield, Brian (Dawn Chandler) Gleisinger of Michigan, Greg (Laurie) Gleisinger of Delaware; daughter, Vickie (Toby) Russell of Bucyrus; step-children, Cindy (Dale) Crossno and Vivian (Ehab) Mohamed both of Panama City, Florida; many grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; brother, Robert (Joan) Evans of Nevada; several nieces and nephews; son-in-law, Dean Hazen of Idaho; and good friend, golfing buddy and neighbor, Michael (Logan) Schue of Lexington.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by daughter, Tammy Hazen; and sister, Carol Owens.
Family and friends may visit at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 Lexington Springmill Road, on Sunday, July 8, 2018 from 2:00-5:00 pm. Pastor Robert Kurtz will officiate the funeral service at the funeral home on Monday, July 9, 2018 at 1:00 pm. Burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park.
