Donald "Don" Barr Schumacher

Donald Barr Schumacher, 83, of Las Vegas, Nevada passed away on Thursday, March 8, 2018 at Nathan Adleson Hospice. He was born on August 30, 1934 in Mifflin, Ohio. Don was the beloved son of Eldon H. and LaDoris (Barr) Schumacher.

Don was a 1953 graduate of Mansfield Senior High School, and remained a life-long Mansfield Tygers fan. He worked for Mansfield Tire and later in Florida he worked at Winn-Dixie. Don was an avid Ohio State Buckeyes, Cleveland Browns and Florida State Seminoles fan. His love of being in the sun complimented his love of horse racing, long walks in the park, watching classic movies, and traveling.

He is survived by a son, Mitchell (Angela) Schumacher; and grandchildren, Anna and Neil Schumacher. Don was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Marilyn Schumacher, Jean Dalbey, and Sandra Hukill; and his former wife, Patricia (Stockwell) Boyd.

A memorial service will be held at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington Springmill Road on March 31, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. The family will receive friends beginning at 10:00 a.m. Burial at Mansfield Memorial Park will follow the service with military honors presented by the Richland County Joint Veterans Burial Detail. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his honor to Nathan Adleson Hospice, 4141 Swenson Street Las Vegas, NV 89119.
