Donnie Spillman, 80, of Shelby, died October 11, 2015. Born November 3, 1934 in Ripley, Ohio, he was the son of John and Anna Jane (Davis) Spillman. Donnie devoted his life to his family and was the perfect dad in the eyes of his children. A generous man, he spared nothing to give his children and grandchildren what they needed. Everyone who met Donnie became a beloved friend and they all loved him in return A very strong faith carried him through a number of earth's trials, but Donnie lived his life to the fullest, cherishing every moment. In his free time, he loved being outside, woodworking, fishing, gardening, and tending to his flowers.
Donnie understood the value of investing in someone's heart and life. He showed this by being a mentor, teacher, leader, and friend to all. While small in stature, he left a huge imprint on many lives and will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Surviving are his children, Donnie Lee (Denise) Spillman of Mansfield, Rick (Cynde) Spillman of Arkansas, John (Sue) Spillman of Florida, and Regina (D. Anthony) Shepherd of Mansfield; 27 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and brother, Paul (Mary) Spillman.
Along with his parents, Donnie was preceded in death by his wife, Garnell Spillman; daughter, Georgia Spillman; grandsons, Jon Paul Spillman and Jay Hoover Spillman; six brothers; and one sister.
