Dora Schlemmer

Dora B. Crawford Schlemmer, 86, of Mansfield died Monday morning, December 9, 2002 at Mansfield Memorial Homes after a brief illness. Mrs. Schlemmer was born March 24, 1916 in Mansfield to the late Lee and Elsie Zents Crawford. She graduated from Mansfield Senior High in 1934. Dora was a member of First Christian Church where she served as Deaconess and was a member of the Homemaker/Chapel Sunday School Class. She was a member of Ruth Chapter #17, Order of the Eastern Star and Past Chairman of the Board and Mother Advisor of Rainbow Girls.

She is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Joan Romanchuk and Jane and Ray Mellick, all of Mansfield; eight grandchildren and their spouses, Cathy and Rick Lehman, Marilyn and Tom Blackstone, Julie Harich, Brenda and Steve Wray, Mike Romanchuk, Greg and Kerri Mellick, Jill and Scott Danison and Melissa and Lendon Parish; thirteen great-grandchildren, Nicole, Tyler, Andrew, Joshua, Ericka, Ryan, Allison, Lance, Carly, Nolan, Hannah, Nicholas and Corrinn; a sister-in-law, Gloria Crawford of Mansfield; one nephew and several nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Herbert Schlemmer in 1983; brother, Robert Crawford; son-in-law, George Romanchuk; and infant grandson, Jeffrey.

Friends may call at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors Wednesday, December 11 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home Thursday at 1:30 p.m., conducted by Rev. J. Terry Marsh. Burial will follow in Mansfield Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Christian Church.
