

She was a hard working woman and retired from Tappan Company and had previously worked at Mansfield Tire and Rubber Co. She was a member of Real Life Community Church where she volunteered as greeter, Sunday School teacher, and served on several committees. Doris was a very well-loved lady, always willing to lend a helping hand wherever needed. She was very giving of her time and talent, and enjoyed making quilts, sewing and reading. Her children will remember her fondly as a loving, caring mother.
She is survived by three daughters, Sandra (James) Gertel of Frostproof, FL, Brenda Meenach of Mansfield, and Anita (Joel) Daniel of Savannah, GA; seven grandchildren, Amy (Jeff) Donahue, Tecca Madden (David Hershberger), Stephanie (Steve) Hoffer, Jason (Kitty) Porter, John Porter, Beth (Dan) Blank and Carrie Winters (Cory Williams); fourteen great-grandchildren, Colin and Darby Donahue, Isabel Bruning, Mason and Marisa Madden, Cordell and Hailee Winters, Samantha (Michael) Rumbolo, Jacob Kegley, Halei and Mattie Lunceford, Gaige, Gaven and Marlee Porter; two sisters, Catherine Miles of Greensboro, NC and Barbara (Jr. Ray) Royse of Morehead, KY; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lertie Patrick; brother, Wayne Canafax; and brother-in-law, Robert Miles.
A funeral service will be held Thursday, June 27, 2013 at 6:00 p.m. in the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond St., Mansfield. Pastor Mark Barth will conduct the service. The family will receive friends beginning at 5:00 p.m. Burial will be in Mansfield Memorial Park at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to Real Life Community Church, ACTS Dinner or Olive Branch Mission.
