

Doris Corine Thompson, 86, passed away Wednesday, May 2, 2018, at Winchester Terrace Nursing Home. She was born to Franklin Nyle and Wilma Louise Lucas on September 6, 1931, in Shinnston, West Virginia.
Doris attended Mansfield Senior High School. She retired in 2003 from Mansfield General Hospital where she worked in the Dietary Department. Doris enjoyed time with her family and reading her Globe magazine. Extremely generous, thrifty, independent, strong willed and quick witted, Doris leaves a legacy her family and friends will treasure forever.
She is survived by three sons, Michael (Lisa) Thompson of Georgia, Terry (Kay) Thompson and Scott (Marla) Thompson, both of Mansfield; eight grandchildren, Trever, Travis, Ashley, Wit, Cameron, Nick, Eric and Rachel; and twelve great-grandchildren, Lia, Rocco, Collin, Gavin, Audrey, Aiden, Sofia, Cooper, Clara, Brandon, Owen, Jack Nikolas, and another due to arrive in July. She is preceded in death by parents; sister, Betty Niswander; brother, Nyle Lucas; and the father of her children, Robert Thompson.
The family wishes to thank the staff of Winchester Terrace Nursing Home and OhioHealth Hospice who treated their mom like their own family. She was well attended to and grateful for the friends she made during her short stay.
A private graveside service will be observed and the family requests that flowers or donations be sent to Winchester Terrace Nursing Home. The Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors is privileged to serve the family.
