Doris L. Tucker

Doris L. Tucker, 90, of Shelby, passed away Thursday, February 2, 2017 at Crestwood Care Center in Shelby. Born July 3, 1926 in Bluefield, West Virginia, she was the youngest child of Randolph and Ida (Miller) Tucker.

Doris was a very religious person and was a faithful member of Hillside First Church of God and most recently attended Taylortown Community Church. She lived most of her life in West Virginia and moved to the Mansfield area with her sister Hazel to be closer to her family. She was a quiet person who loved being around children.

She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews including Wayne (Linda) Compton.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Ola, Beulah and Hazel; and six brothers, Gaither, Russel, Cecil, Everett, Oscar and Roy.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 7, 2017 at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond Street, Mansfield conducted by Rev. Glenn M. Phillips. Burial will follow in Mansfield Cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to the service, from 1:00 - 2:00 p.m., Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
