
Douglas E. "Doug" Bandy, 69 of Mansfield, passed away Saturday, August 14, 2010 at Mifflin Care Center. He was born on August 13, 1941 to Otis Lee Bandy and Nancy Burdette Clark in the town of North Tazewell, Virginia. During his lifetime, Doug worked as a truck driver, but most recently had been a truck driver for Chief Freight Lines. He enjoyed the independence that his work afforded him. When he wasn't working, he would be out riding his Harley Davidson Motorcycle. His family remembers him for his caring and thoughtful nature.
Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Douglas Starla Bandy of Mansfield, and Charles Sandy Bandy, also of Mansfield; a daughter and son-in-law, Deborah James Lyles of Mansfield; ten grandchildren, Christopher, Nicholas, Corey, Matthew, Amber, Ashley, Levi, Katie, Shelbie, and Ashley; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Betty Ray Hess of Mount Vernon, and Jonnie Greg Fisher of Galion; a dear friend, Pat McClure of Ashland; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Friends may call at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 South Diamond Street, on Tuesday, August 17, 2010 from 5:00PM to 8:00PM. A funeral service in Doug's honor, will be held on Wednesday morning, at 10:00AM, August 18, 2010, at the funeral home with Les Farley officiating. Memorial contributions may be made in care of The American Cancer Society.
