

He was a Sergeant in the U.S. Army, serving during WWII, and was present for the Battle of the Bulge. By age 18, Dwight was an accomplished artist and won a national art contest for his watercolor painting. Possessing a diligent work ethic, he started his own business-Miller Sign Service-in 1946 and also managed The Cap Place beginning in 1972.
Dwight was a loving family man, doting on his wife, Dorothy Kudika Miller, until her passing on December 14, 2011. Attending the sporting and school events of his grandchildren were a highlight in his life. He was a member of First United Methodist Church. He enjoyed sharing his passion for singing with the group, The Master Singers, years ago.
He is survived by three children, Doug (Debbie) Miller of Columbus, Diana Devolder of Lexington and Dan (Lori) Miller of Ontario; eight grandchildren, Andy (Julie) Ottney, Olivia, Warner, Ashley and Adam Miller, Dustin and Meghan Devolder, and Katie Underwood; a sister, Vivian Amspoker of Peoria, AZ; brother, Neal (Loretta) Miller of Springfield; and a sister-in-law, Nancy Miller of Millersburg. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Delmar and Melvin Miller.
Friends and family may visit from 1-3 p.m., Sunday, April 29, 2012 at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Rd. A funeral service conducted by Rev. George Reece will be held Monday at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park with military honors presented by Richland County Joint Veterans Burial Squad. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
