

Edith Kreger Miller, 92, of Mansfield, died Sunday, August 11, 2013 at Crystal Care Center of Mansfield. She was born June 5, 1921 in Shreve, Ohio, to the late Blanche (Miller) and Harry Kreger. Edith was formerly employed as a secretary with Ohio Brass, Tappan Co. and Mansfield Tire and Rubber Co., worked at Red and White Market and Dominion Electric. After retiring in 1984, she worked for Kelly's Temporary Services for four years and most recently at Sam's Club for 10 years as a food demonstrator.
Edith was a member of The Girls Club at Mansfield Tire and attended Crossroads Community Church. Always one to be active and blessed with lots of energy she immensely enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Shirley (Richard) Carpenter and Carol (George) Johnston, all of Shelby; a son-in-law, John Gates and his companion, Marlee Holmes; seven grandchildren, Brad (Debbie) Carpenter, Sherri (Gene) Gowitzka, Kim (Steve) Powell, Shelly (Jacque) Poole, Brian (Michelle) Gates, Darren (Missi) Gates and Stefanie (Rob) Green; twenty-three great-grandchildren; and five great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by three sisters, Helen Graham, Marie Trumpower and Irma Ammons; as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Miller; daughter, Patricia Gates; her companion of 15 years, Ronald Stentz; three infant brothers; and a sister, Ethel Coulter.
Friends and family may visit from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, August 14, 2013 at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Road. The funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery, Shreve, Ohio.
