Edith Shadel

Edith Eileen Shadel, 78, of Mansfield, died Tuesday March 29, 2005 at Crystal Care Center of Ashland after a short illness. Born March 6, 1927 in Mansfield, she was the daughter of Frank L. and Mabel Souder Snodgrass. She had worked as a sales clerk for Dairy Mart. Mrs. Shadel was a member of the St. John's United Church of Christ and was a member of Miriam Rebekah #388 and Wright Auxiliary #46. On March 6, she celebrated her 78th birthday, and on March 20, her 56th wedding anniversary.

She is survived by her husband, Howard Thomas Edward Shadel; one daughter, Barbara E. Burchfield of Milwaukee, Oregon; one son, Donald E. Shadel of Wooster; four grandchildren, Jason Burchfield, Stacey Burchfield Hambrich, Amanda Shadel, and Brianna Shadel; three great grandchildren, Shyla Burchfield, Alexis Hambrich, and Samantha Hambrich; one sister, Carol M. Skeen of Mansfield; and two nieces, Sharon and Miriam Skeen. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday April 1, 2005 at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with Pastor Lon McSherley officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. John's Church Memorial Fund or T.V. Fund.
