Edmund "Lefty" H. Parr

Edmund "Lefty" H. Parr, 68, of Mansfield, passed away just after midnight on Thursday, August 23, 2018, at Kingston of Ashland Nursing Home in Ashland, Ohio. He was born April 17, 1950, in Mansfield, Ohio, to Loretta J. (Berger) and Clendon "Bill" N. Parr Sr.

He was a 1968 graduate of Mansfield Senior High School and attended Ohio Wesleyan University and The Ohio State University. Lefty worked at Empire Steel for over 30 years. He was a member of Elks Lodge #56. Lefty enjoyed all sports and traveled around the country playing in one arm golfer's tournaments. During his links career, he achieved 2 "hole in one" shots. He served as an officer for the North American One Armed Golfer Association.

He is survived by his mother, Loretta J. Parr; four siblings, Clendon "Jay" (Sherryl) Parr Jr., Bonnie Debo, William (Suzie) Parr and Carol Parr; several nieces and nephews; and two aunts, Helen Stanton and Mary Kramer. He was preceded in death by his father, Clendon "Bill" Parr Sr.; brothers, Ron and Paul Parr; and brother-in-law, James Debo.

A gathering of family and friends will be held Thursday, August 30, 2018, from 11:00 a.m-12:00 p.m. at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond St., Mansfield. A family reception will be held in the Life Celebration Reception Center. He will be laid to rest in Mansfield Memorial Park.
