
Edward R. Andrea, age 87, of 1049 Springmill Road, died Monday afternoon October 30, 2006. He went home to be with the Lord following a brief illness. Mr. Andrea was born May 15, 1919 in Chicago, Illinois living in the Mansfield area most of his life and was retired from Ohio State Reformatory. Mr. Andrea was an active member of First Alliance Church, where he touched many lives through his involvement in several ministries including elder & soul winner. His passion for many years was helping those in need through the Benevolence Fund. He was a founding member of Mansfield Noon Lions. Mr. Andrea loved history, cooking, fishing, puzzles, card games, attending church functions, and was very active with local food banks. He was a cousin to Greta Garbo. Mr. Andrea was an avid Cleveland Indians Fan. He was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving in the South Pacific and a Pearl Harbor survivor.
Surviving are three daughters and two sons-in-law, Susan & Jeffery Price of Mansfield, Mary Andrea of Mansfield, Beth and Gene Anderson of Belle Center; a son and daughter-in-law, Steven & Victoria Andrea of Wooster; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Jeanne Adams and June Andrea both of Bowling Green. He was preceded in death by his wife, Donna Andrea; a daughter, Lois Andrea; his parents, Ernest & Ellen Larson Andrea and a sister, Doris Bates.
Friends may call at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors Thursday from 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held Friday at 10:00 a.m. at First Alliance Church, conducted by Dr. Steven B. Burggraf. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to Lois J. Andrea Scholarship Fund in care of Clear Fork Valley Foundation or Benevolence Fund at First Alliance Church.
