

Born February 8, 1941 in Hardy, Kentucky, he was the son of Edward Dewey and Eula (Stitner) Gibson. Many people will know and remember Ed as the bartender and “part owner” of the Basement Bar. A hard working family man, he loved riding his Harley Davidson with his wife and friend, Marilyn. Ed was loved by his family and friends and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife and friend of 35 years, Marilyn Gibson; two daughters, Nora Knipp of Mansfield and Stephanie Apidone of Tiffin; four sons, Nick (Kim) Gibson of Nankin, Scott Gibson of Mansfield, Edward Ray Gibson of Nankin and Torre Lee Gibson of Mansfield; grandchildren, Devin, Owen, Katelyn, Tiffany, Anita and Denim Gibson; two sisters, Peggy Schmidt and Jean (Jerry) Mosier; and two brothers, Bill (Julie) Gibson and Don (Dawn) Gibson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his twin sister, Eva Gail.
A dinner celebration in honor of Ed will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 11, 2012 in his backyard at 364 Grace Street, Mansfield.
