Eleanor A. Burns, 72, of Mansfield, died unexpectedly Monday, November 21, 2005, at the Cleveland Clinic. Born November 19, 1933, in Detroit, Michigan, she was the daughter of Alexander R. and Ellen Kelley McInnes. She was a Mansfield area resident since 1975 and had worked for the Chamber of Commerce and Pioneer Joint Vocational School. Eleanor was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church and enjoyed reading, traveling and working crossword puzzles. She was also a member of the Kiwanis, Red Hat Society and Mansfield City Charter Commission.
She is survived by a son, Kevin Burns of Mansfield; daughter, Karen and Doug Newlon of Lyndhurst; two grandchildren, Ryan and Alec; and two brothers, David and Mary Ann McInnes of Warren, Michigan, Bill and Dolly McInnes of Sonoma, California. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Daniel Burns in 1999.
Friends may call Sunday, November 27 from 2-5 p.m. at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Peter's Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Mansfield Catholic Cemetery.
