Eleanor Sloan

Eleanor Jane Thompson Leadbetter Sloan, 84, died Monday, July 28, 2008, in Richmond, VA. She was born July 23, 1924, in Mansfield to Lester and Lydia Martin Thompson, living in Richmond for the last 10 years. She was a member of the Grace Episcopal Church in Mansfield and a retired employee of North Central Technical College. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and mother-in-law.

She is survived by her children, Gilbert E. and Helen Leadbetter of Richmond, VA, and Lizabeth S. and James Elsasser of Columbus; grandchildren, Ed and Audrey Isak, Matthew and Beverly Ebinger, Christopher and Michelle Leadbetter, Derick and Kristin Elsasser, Lisa Elsasser, and Kristine Elsasser; great-grandchildren, Aidan and Sean Isak, and Grayson Ebinger; sister, Mary T. Moyer; sister-in-law, Caroline Thompson. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Gilbert E. Leadbetter and Richard C. Sloan.

Friends may call from 7-9 p.m. Thursday, July 31, 2008, at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors. Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, August 1, 2008, at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park.
