

Eloise M. Mitchell, of Ontario, passed away Friday morning, June 24, 2016, at OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital. She was 99 years young. She was born March 5, 1917, in Mansfield, Ohio, to the late Theodore and Victoria (Huber) Haag.
Eloise worked at Possum Run Greenhouse for 25 years, a great place to be immersed in her love of flowers. Many years ago, she worked as a bookkeeper at Goetz Hardware and Daugherty's Sohio in the grocery store. Eloise enjoyed being around people and had a wonderful time visiting with her family discussing world events. Her love of shopping was varied and included watching QVC and the Home Shopping Network hoping to find that something special. She loved music and was quite a gifted piano player. Eloise was witness to many changes throughout her life, not the least of which was the advancement of technology, and she thoroughly enjoyed working on her computer.
Eloise is survived by two sons, Thomas (Nita) Mitchell of Mansfield, OH, and Jerry (Darlene) Mitchell Sr. of Myrtle Beach, SC; a daughter, Vicki (Stacy) Schaffer of Lakeville, OH; four grandchildren, Jerry Mitchell Jr., Lynette Mitchell, Micky Mitchell and Laura Fuhrer; three great-grandchildren, Jayson, Morley and Erika Mitchell; and a special "granddaughter", Trish Kick. She is also survived by a sister, Helen Meister; shopping buddy, Cheri Wolf; special friends, Ursula Studer and Cotta McFarland; and many neighborhood friends in the Villas. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dow Mitchell; and two brothers, Robert and Charles Haag.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Saturday, July 2, 2016, at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Road. The service conducted by Pastor John Dodds will follow at 1:00 p.m. Burial will proceed to Mansfield Memorial Park.
