
Elsie Metz Corwin, 82 of Fredricktown, died Saturday, June 18, 2005 at the Morrow County Hospital following an extended illness. She was born February 18, 1923 in Shelby, Ohio to the Late Lester and Elva Ryland Metz, and has lived all her life in the area. Elsie was retired from Ohio Brass Co. after working at Essex Wire, served in the Lexington VFW Ladies Auxiliary, and will be remembered for her love of cooking and the wonderful care she showed for her family.
Surviving are her husband of fifty-five years, William P. Corwin of Mansfield; three daughters and sons-in-law, Judy and Woody Martin of Mansfield, Linda and Lawrence Long-Nixon of Mansfield, and Patricia and Rick Arthur of Lexington; two sons and daughters-in-law, William M. and Arlene Corwin of Ashland, and Ernest and Shelley Corwin of Bellville; eleven grandchildren and thirty great-grandchildren. Elsie's parents, a brother Bob Metz, and two sisters, Madeline Six and Nancy Traxler all preceded her in death.
Friends may call at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors Tuesday June 21 from 6-8 PM. Funeral services will take place on Wednesday at 10:30 AM at the funeral home, conducted by Elsie's son-in-law, Rev. Lawrence G. Nixon. Burial will follow in Shauck Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Morrow County EMS.
