

Elwood Brinegar, Sr., 76, of Mansfield died September 10, 2004. Elwood went to be with the Lord, Friday morning, following an extended illness. He was born February 5, 1928, in Olive Hill, Kentucky, to William McKinley and Delia Jones Brinegar, and lived in Mansfield since he was 18 years old. He retired from Shaffer Valve Company and had formerly worked at AK Steel and Artesian. He was a member of Frank Marquis Masonic Lodge #690. Elwood was a sportsman who enjoyed fishing on pontoon boats. He was fun loving and enjoyed carpentry, especially building clocks, guns and birdhouses. He was a veteran of WWII, serving with the U.S. Army.
He is survived by three daughters and their spouses, Debra Brinegar of Mansfield, Linda and Glen Kiser and Brenda and Jim Mosbey of Olive Hill, Kentucky; a son and daughter-in-law, Allen and Tina Brinegar of Mansfield; eight grandchildren, Darla, Lisa, A.J., Trevor, Jimmy, Mike, Mary Ann, and Francie; five great-grandchildren; a brother and sister-in-law, Ora and Donna Brinegar; three sisters, Pauline Duncan, Elizabeth Culp and JoAnn Kiser, all of Mansfield; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Darlene Owens Brinegar; son, Elwood 'Dude' Brinegar, Jr.; parents; brother, Leroy Brinegar; and sister, Christine Sparks.
Graveside services will be held Saturday, September 11, at 2:00 p.m. at Mansfield Cemetery, officiated by Rev. Bruce Copley. Masonic services will be observed at the gravesite. Wappner Funeral Directors assisted the family with arrangements.
