
Ephraim K. "Eph" Davis, Sr. 75, of Mansfield, died Wednesday, May 12, 2010 at MedCentral Mansfield Hospital. Born August 15, 1934 in Clearfield, Pennsylvania, he was the son of Walter E. and Hilda Kaylor Davis. He lived in the Ashland and Mansfield area most of his life. Eph had previously owned and operated Davis Heating and Spouting and co-owned Custom Exhaust. He retired from Local 42 Plumbers and Pipe Fitters Union, of which he had also been a member for 40 years. Eph also co-owned Forest Hills Mobile Home Park for 21 years with his wife. He raced stock cars for 27 years and is in the Wayne County Hall of Fame. Eph also enjoyed visiting casinos. He was a member of the VFW #9943, the Sons and Daughters of Herman, and the Eagles #336.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Joan Smith Davis; two daughters and son-in-law, Dixie and Steve Burkepile of Widowville, and Pam Crain of Mansfield; two sons, Joseph Davis and fiancée, Pat Hargett, and Richard Davis and special friend, Terri Lape, all of Mansfield; 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Walter and Jean Davis of Cambria, California; sister, Florence Brunson of Independence, Missouri; several nieces, nephews and other relatives; five sisters-in-law; and two brothers-in-law. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Steven K. Davis, and Ephraim K. Davis, Jr.; two sisters, Wanda Soles, and Norma Bushnell; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Clenny Sr. and Inez Smith; six brothers-in-law; one sister-in-law; and several aunts and uncles.
Graveside services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, May 15, 2010 at Zehner Cemetery in Mifflin Village, conducted by Pastor Craig Hamm. Wappner Funeral Directors is privileged to serve the family of Ephraim K. Davis, Sr.
