

Estella Scott of Mansfield, OH went home to be with the Lord, Sunday, August 19, 2012 with all five of her children by her side. Estella was born February 5, 1937 in Greenville, MS to Rev. John and Minnie (Gray) Lee. She moved to Mansfield and had lived here for the past 56 years. She accepted Christ at an early age and she loved the Lord with all her heart. She was a member of Providence Baptist Church. “Sweet Mother Dear” as she was lovingly referred to by her children was a wonderful mother. She enjoyed reading, listening to gospel and R&B music and her Banana Pudding and Macaroni and Cheese were mouth watering. When she was able, she enjoyed shopping and spending time with her family. All those who knew her will always remember her Nat King Cole -The Christmas Song CD that she played all throughout the holiday seasons. A kind hearted woman, she left an indelible mark on all who knew her and she will be dearly missed by her family.
Estella leaves to cherish her memory, her children, Sherlan (Rick) Carpenter of Columbus, Dr Albert (Sabrina) Scott, Jr. of Atlanta, GA, Charles (Stephanie Scott, Sr., Dorothy (Johnny) Hardin, and Rosemary (Darrin) Marsh, all of Mansfield. She leaves a sister, Idella Hawkins of Southfield, MI; special friend, Louise Selman of Mansfield; 10 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers, Morris Lee and Warren Lee.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 25, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Providence Baptist Church, 112 W. 6th St., Mansfield, conducted by Dr. Thomas Hunt. Friends may call one hour prior to the service from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at the church. Burial will follow in Mansfield Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the home of her daughter, Rosemary at 375 3rd Ave. from 1:00-7:00 p.m. and also her son, Charles at 1372 Bonnie Dr from 5:00-8:00 p.m. up until the day of the services. Memorial contributions may be made to the MedCentral Hospice.
