
Florence Elizabeth Scott George, 84, of Mansfield died early Sunday morning, October 12, 2003 at her home. She was born December 12, 1918 in Edison, Ohio to Fred and Barbara Hack Scott. Florence was a Mansfield area resident since 1943 and was formerly employed as a sales clerk at Sears. She was a member of Ontario United Methodist Church and the Ontario Senior Citizens.
She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Betty and Terry Banbury of Chesapeake, Virginia and Sharon and Kenneth Troxel of Canton, Ohio; four grandchildren, Todd Banbury, Kristi Banbury Burkhouse, Heidi Troxel, and Amy Troxel Derrenberger; two great-grandchildren, Madison Burkhouse and Noah Derrenberger; a sister, Mildred Brown of Canton; and a good friend, Maria Mooney of Ontario. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald L. George; parents; and brothers, Walter Scott and Earl Scott.
Friends may call at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors Tuesday, October 14 from 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home, conducted by Rev. James F. Winkler and Dr. Clair Hess. Burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to the Ontario United Methodist Church or MedCentral Hospice.
