
Frances Pearl Miller Neptune, 78, of Mansfield died early Saturday morning, April 13, 2002 at her home following a battle with cancer. Mrs. Neptune was born May 3, 1923 in Mifflin, Ohio to Rev. John and Viola Ireland Goon. She was an area resident all of her life and retired from All Prints Photo where she worked as a photo processor. Frances was a very loving person, who was always helping others. One of the great joys in her life was being with her dog, Susie and her birds. She was a member of First Friends Church, Friendly Circle Club, VFW Post #9943, and A.A.R.P.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Melvin and Carol Shults of Mansfield; three grandchildren and their spouses, Randy and Berta Shults, and Shelly and Sara Shults, all of Mansfield; one great-granddaughter, Jessica; four stepdaughters and one stepson-in-law, Debbie and Tony Campbell of Mansfield, Lucy Atherton, Rose Neptune, both of Mansfield and Betty Neptune of Newark; five step-grandchildren, Tony Campbell Jr. of North Carolina, Adrianne Campbell of Mansfield, J.R., Brian and Jeff; three step-great-grandsons, Antonie III and Antoine of Mansfield and Antony of North Carolina; one step-great-granddaughter, Storm of North Carolina; sister, Margaret Goon of Marion; and three brothers, John Brooks of Galion, Clyde Goon of Illinois and David Goon of Marion. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Neptune, one son, one step-grandchild, parents, and four sisters.
Friends may call at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors Sunday, April 14, 2002 from 6-9 p.m. Funeral services will be at the funeral home Monday at 2:30 p.m. conducted by Rev. Richard E. Pass. Burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to MedCentral Hospice or First Friends Church.
