

Frank Chapman, 65, of Mansfield died late Tuesday evening, July 16, 2002 at MedCentral Mansfield Hospital after an extended illness. Mr. Chapman was born February 26, 1937 in Chauncey, Ohio and was an area resident most of his life. Before his retirement, he was employed with Ideal Electric. He was a veteran serving with the U.S. Marines. Frank belonged to the VFW Post #9943, Sons of Herman, and Amvets Post #43. He was a very friendly man who enjoyed sharing a joke with his many friends. Fishing, playing billiards and following Ohio State University football were favorite pastimes.
He is survived by a daughter, Aimee Parson of Mansfield; one grandchild, Jacob Parson of Mansfield; a sister, Beulah Sweval of Mansfield; and numerous nieces, nephews and good friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jacob Elmer Chapman and Martha Ann Garner Chapman; brothers, Bill Chapman and Otis Chapman; and one grandchild, Daniel Chapman.
Friends may call at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors Friday, July 19 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home, Saturday at 1:00 p.m. conducted by Pastor Chuck Sloan. Military graveside services will follow in Mansfield Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in care of the family.
