
Frank W. Manning, 83, of Mansfield, died Wednesday, September 22, 2004, at his home after an extended illness. He was born November 9, 1920, in Wellsboro, Pennsylvania to Jim and Mae Secrest Manning. He was a 1938 graduate of Little Marsh High School in Pennsylvania. Frank retired after 19 years of service at Midland Ross. He was a veteran of WWII serving with the U.S. Air Force retiring in 1962 from Rickenbacker Air Force Base. He was a member of V.F.W. Post #3494.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Marion Gee Manning; two daughters and a son-in-law, Priscilla and Richard Stout and Janet Gibson, all of Mansfield; six grandchildren, Cherie Kissar of Lexington, Michelle Webb of Dallas, Texas, Stephanie Stout, Kevin Stout, Christine Debiew and Phillip Bricker, all of Mansfield; and fifteen great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Elaine Thompson; and brother, Lee Bartholomew.
Friends may call at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, Friday, September 24 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home, officiated by Rev. Clifford Earl Tackett. Military graveside services will follow in Mansfield Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
